Sitting Together & Tending Our Stories
Money alone isn’t a magic fix, so we pull up chairs to share the heavy weight of burnout and loneliness. This is where providers, workers, and neighbors sit as equals, listening to Durham narratives and moving toward wellness through the power of our shared backyard.
Horizontal Hospitality
We break down hierarchies so lived experience leads the way. No one talks for us here; we side-step clinical labels to build a space where self-advocacy is the natural way of being.
Unloading Collectively
We co-host circles to talk about the gaps in care we’ve all felt. By clearing up myths about how our brains work, we create room for everyone to show up exactly as they are, without shame.
Shared Backyard
Our leadership is a long table where we co-design systems of support. We aren't a charity; we are asking each other it where we see need in this city. We are skill sharing. We are building structures that last, and we know that it will take time to do it right.
Where We’re Going
We move as a community to co-teach and co-create, ensuring local voices are the ones shaping how we work and live. Our path is one of shared growth, composting old systems to co-design a garden of dignified work.
Scale of Abundance
The Harvest
More dinners, more trainees, more farms, and more tables. We are expanding our footprint to create a regional network of food and care that feeds the whole self.
Economic Dignity
Supported Pathways
Moving from training into paid, sustainable roles. We create sensory-safe environments where folks aren't just staff, but essential stewards of our collective wellness.
Long-Term Care
Co-Tending with Community
Replacing rigid institutional charts with real-world care that honors every unique way of being. Our community guides us in finding mental health goals together.
